Which doctor will I see during my first visit?

For your initial exam visit, if you have not requested one of our doctors specifically, you will be scheduled on the first, most convenient appointment. The doctor who is available at that appointment will see you. Unless you request otherwise, you will continue to see the same doctor.

Will I see the same doctor for all my treatment?

Yes. If for example, your treatment plan requires four visits, you will be scheduled all four times with your doctor. If a different doctor has a particular proficiency (for example, wisdom tooth removal), it may be suggested that you see that doctor for the special service.

Can I see my doctor if I have an emergency?

Yes, but only if his or her schedule is available. One of the reasons for our expanded schedule is to have a doctor available at as many times of the week as possible for emergency care. The important thing, however, is that one of our doctors will be available for emergency care throughout the week.

Can I see my same doctor/hygienist on my continuing-care (check-up/cleaning) visit?

Yes! But if there is any reason you think a different doctor might fit your dental needs better, you can request a change.

May I refer a friend or family member to a particular doctor?

Yes. By all means, feel free to refer someone you care about to a particular doctor here at our office. We will do our best to assure that all patients see their doctor of choice.

John Wehr, D.D.S. Member of: AACD, ADA, AGD, MDA

Dr. Wehr graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in Theater and Speech before joining the National Guard, where he served in a combat support hospital. He then returned to U of M and graduated with his D.D.S. In 1998 he moved to his current facility after turning a simple UAW Hall into an impressive state-of-the-art dental office.

Raised in Ypsilanti where his father practiced dentistry, his family goes back four generations in Ann Arbor. His passion for aesthetics began in his first year in practice. Already grounded in a preventative philosophy, he realized the obvious: people who like their teeth take better care of them. The formal training in cosmetics has been continuous since.

Dr. Wehr is a water sports enthusiast. A record setting high school swimmer, his current regular exercise is water polo. His passions are sailing and S.C.U.B.A. diving.

Dr. Wehr and his wife Nancy live close enough to the office that he can bike to work and readily drive back to the office should you have an emergency. They have a combined 5 children and 7 grandchildren. The best part- 6 out of 7 grandchildren live within walking distance.

Dr. Wehr is very involved in this community. His involvements include:

  • Former president of the Lion's Club
